welding/grinding helmet

due to welding fumes laying me up i purchased a parweld xr914c air fed helmet which has been fine but now i am starting to suffer badly with grinding fumes(probably some sort of occupational illness) i have tried disposable masks etc which don't seem to work and with glasses goggles mask eardefenders on i struggle with seeing what i am doing as i get steamed up. I see parweld do a welding helmet with a grinding mode i was wondering if anybody had any experiance with this and where is there a good deal to be had the model i was looking at was the xr914ch

would one of these suit your needs ?,i've got a similar one and it doesn't mist up at all plus its very light.

Hi Fletch,

PPE is supposed to be the last line of defence.

I think some sort of extraction system would be the way ahead if you're suffering from the effects of fumes and dust, if it's reasonably portable you could move it from the grider to the welder.
