Welding Helmet Hard Hat adaptor

Hi all,

Just looking for an adapter that will allow me to mount my helmet onto a hardhat for site work.

I know miller do one and esab for there helmets but i've not sound a place in the UK, I have a spare helmet which i could use to do site work, saves me swopping helmets all day

I have a speedglas mounted to a hard hat. Apart from being able to change the mask between hats, it is designed for the hard hat and cannot be used without it unfortunately. Maybe useless information to you, but thought it might be worth knowing.

Thanks Tiggy, the Speedglas ones i think are sold by 3M in the states at $164

Hate to think how much its here, However esab do an adaptor for their eye tech helmets which you use a normal Hardhat, you need to take the headband out of the welding helmet tho..

Miller do one also, but i can't seem to find anyone in UK to givce me a price, How mush was yours Tiggy ?

I bought mine 2nd hand, nearly new from ebay, I think for about £90, 3 years ago. I didnt realise it was a hard hat type until it arrived. At first, I was like 'dammit!', but realised that it would be handy for site work if ever I needed to do some. Since buying it i havn't needed to do any site work, sods law, but still...

Unfortunately, today I placed it on top of a fresh stainless weld. It soon made a quick job of powdercoating the workpiece. I now need to fork out for a new head band

My Optrel one is fitted with a hard hat, I was going to change it but it is comfortable to wear and no inconvenience so it stays on.
I have spotted a couple of hot rock marks on the top so it saves my pate from burns as well.

Thats great and a cheap price too, Its only for doing stick on site, so thats fine Saves the site safety manager screaming

Not had any issues with the use of a normal headshield, providing the normal hard hat goes back on when you've finished.

Even on big zero harm style sites, never been a problem.
