Welding rsj

Hi I'm new into this, and I hope I won't trouble you too much.
I took my wall between the kitchen and dining room down and replace it with rsj to hold the floor above. At one end I've got the chimney and I had to add 2 rsj either side to suport it .I attached plates top and bottom but when building control came ,they told me to weld them and attach one more rsj on one side because 2 bricks are not suported. Engineer done all the paperwork, which is fine, but know I have to weld it .what welder shall I use for rsj which is 152/152/12 ? Do you think is worth to buy a welder and try it myself or shall I get someone to do it? And how much it will cost welder , or the man to do the job? I also have to add brackets in the web for extra strenth. I'll try to add a picture to see it better. Do you know anyone in essex ,uk who will do the job if you think is too complicated for me?

Get someone to do it. Most jobbing fabricators would be able to do it.

I 've gor the rsj for nothing from work, that's why I thought I'll save some money.

if you have never welded before then you dont want to start by welding structual things that are load bearing. you need the experience to know if your weld has penatrated or if its simply attached to the surface and going to fail

If you havent welded before you wont find it easy to weld that in all the positions , get a professional man in !

If the bricks are taken out at an angle the chimney would be no problem if it's tied into the back wall. A piece of 4x4 knocked into place on top of the beam would have held that up.

I have just welded some steels for a customer, everything was cut and ready to weld. IE: foot plates, end plates and fixing plates all I had to do was plug my inverter in and weld. I charged them £150 per day. I started on Saturday at 9am, left at 2:30pm. Went back Monday at 8:30 and was away for 10am. I charged them a day and half labour. I would of finished sooner but builders can drink tea for Britain so I had to stop every so often so not to be rude and have a brew!
