Welding stainless box 40x40 2-3mm wall

I have a small job coming up welding a frame for an oven to Stand on, (304 stainless), my problem is if I stick weld it, I will have to use a fast travel speed but ...

1. Will I have to do a root pass and a cover pass due to penetration.
2. Will I have to use a low amperage? If so what range?

I have no experience stick welding ss, so any advice would be appreciated.

That would stick weld nicely with a 2.5 (12swg) stainless electrode at around 85 amps, only one run required, watch out for the slag jumping off as it cools, it always finds your eyes.

And how clean the whole process is compared to stick welding mild. As has been said watch out for the slag, it really flys.
