Although i have a pretty large shop it is a little cramped with all the crap, i mean useful future resources, that my old man has acquired over the past 30 years. So i have little space for large projects unless i'm scrabbling about on the floor. With a bad back and a knackered knee this is no longer an option so having done a bit of research on the net i have come up with a plan for a collapsable welding table. Thought i'd post the process on here and see what you all think
.
I had some 90/50 left over from a feed barrier so i used it to make the spine of the table. Note the clean workshop.
The top of the table is made from 40/40 box
i used M12 bolts for the hinges and a bit of waste 50mm flat
I ran out of battery yesterday and had some other jobs to do so here is a picture of the leg support. In retrospect i should have used some 50/50 box for a more secure hinge but needs must.
Here is the table with the top folded up
I had to weld the hinge bolts in to allow clearance for the legs when folded
The table un folded measures 1200 wide and 1800 long. It works really well i just need a top for it. Any ideas? More pics to follow when i get a few minutes to finish it off.
