Well here we go, hello all

I have joined this forum as I have just bought a second hand mig welder.
The plan is to repair a hole in the bottom of a small steel boat.
It has been bodged up with filler and leaked for ages,so I am going to have a go at fixing it by welding in a piece of plate.
Looks to me like its about 2mm thick steel sheet.
May have one or two or three questions when I get started.
Well it keeps us oldies off the streets.
