I have had this 20 gallon tank sitting around (75L). I has stolen the 5HP pump/motor off of it to put on an 80-gal tank.
Found a cheap no-name (read Chinese) 2HP compressor off ebay for $80 shipped:
Fired it up and the whole tank started walking around the garage
. Cheap compressor had no balancing in the pump. I added some shock dampers made from an old mouse pad. Works better. At least the fan blows a lot of air over the pump. Stays much cooler than most I have seen.
Oh well, it is listed on craigs list for a quick sale. Should be ok for occasional use, but I never would work it real hard.
BTW, the pump/compressor off this one still works great. While mounting this pump on the tank I found a 1989 date code on the tank. Amazing it still works so well.
