Wet blasting update

So I got my tonne of fine glass grit delivered this morning, couldn't wait to give the karcher wet blasting attachment a try out. The manifold was outgased in the oven to purge the cast of contaminents prior to blasting. Im impressed with the results but next time im putting some over trousers on

Glad it worked for you. If you can recover the glass it will give a finer finish still. Dry blasting with beads will bring it up luvly.

If you go for some waterproofs DON'T get the yellow cheapy (yellow £10 ) set from screwfix cos they break in the crotch as soon as you put them on! jackets ok though.

Thanks, too much effort to recover it after wet blasting. It's only £3 a bag and i usedd 3/4 of a bag. I'm looking forward to how good it will look after glass beading

Ye I has a cheap pair of sprayway over trousers, they just tear open if you catch them. I usually use some cheap cycling ones from the aldi. They are good enough but not breathable so a bit sweaty when it's warm

Worked well, I'm using the k7 so I think that would be the problem. Just traded in my last k7 which lasted 13 years and they gave £160 in part exchange so they do work out very cheap in the long run

Lol mine used about five times more than that! Shows that with blasting you need high air/water flow.

Wounder if you could make up/mod a lance to be short enough to work in a blast type cabinet. Then allow the used media to fall into a big tub rather than spraying over back yard
Would only need a mesh for base and no need for dust extraction

No mate, it's cast aluminium. That's all I deal with, I do porting and most the parts are heavily contaminated and I cut the plenum open to port so it needs to be really clean for welding back up
