What angle grinder to get? That is durable

Went through 2 mac allister angle grinders and a ryobi in a few month.
Looking for a 115mm angle grinder nothing big. Got told in b and q that they are not for industrial use. Would any one recommend me me one don’t want battery want a corded. One that will hopefully last haha.

Have both and been abused.
Happily buy another tomorrow if one did fail but all are 6+years old.

Nice long flexible leads as well.
I can't stand stiff leads on tools.

As per BS above, look for a good high wattage grinder, But I always buy 125mm grinders, Also a nice slim body, much easier to hold on longish cuts etc,

Could anyone recommend a link to one to buy? I’m looking in the £60-£80 range. That might be in the low end range I guess? All I want is an angle grinder I can use and abuse in a way that’s going to last. I do quite abit of grinding and I’m just finding myself going through cheap grinders each 1-2 months. Think I paid £30-£35 on the Mcallister's. Hopefully if I put abit extra into one it will last me

i think some of mine were hot to start off with all 110v gear from sales. you have to ask yourself why would you sell perfectly working gear virtually new

I have had one of these last 5 years and itonly packed in as i used to do a lot with GRP and the dust killed it. only due to me and poor maintenance. I got another a few weeks back as its been so good. A bit heavy if your doing a lot of single handed grinding, which i know you shouldnt but we do.

Hikoki and Metabo are good, but whichever grinder you get, don't lean on them - see a lot get killed by people pushing down on them too hard.
Let the disc do the work, don't overheat them and give them a blow out to keep the dust out of them and they should last a lot longer.

Another thing is to look at what you are using it for and see if you are using the most appropriate/effective abrasives - its amazing how much time and effort you can save by switching these around.
Which can mean a lot less time wasted grinding and less wear and tear on the machine.

Yes i did but when grinding hours ata time and not doing it untill your finished clogs the lot up a fair bit. For the money there dam good. 5 years for £60 aint bad so cant grumble.

I’ve been using 125mm Dewalt 18v brushless grinders for a few years now and they’re brilliant. The weight is the same as a corded grinder and they’ve got plenty of power for dressing welds and wire wheeling.

We've a cordless DeWalt at work, it's awesome, and so quiet to use you don't need ear defenders, eats batteries mind you.

CP came out with "Hi-Cycle" electric grinders in the 1950's for those in industry that didn't want air powered.
The had a M-G set to make IIRC 400 hz 3 phase, and sealed motors with no brushes.
