Hi all. Wonder if you can help me. I found these tig rods in stock at work today. They seem to be some sort of aluminium bronze. They have a flux coating on them as well.
I know that they are used in marine engineering for welding copper/zinc/aluminium
alloy pipework for seawater heat exchangers etc. Alloy CZ110 is used for pipes in these applications. It includes arsenic to prevent zinc leaching out. I don't believe the rods contain arsenic.
I'm just wondering why these rods need flux? Can I use these rods in a tig brazing way for repairing cast iron, say?
Thanks!
