What is the delay for ?

I have only used passive helmets in the past and now i'm looking at getting my first auto helmet and saw the swp one in the weldequip shop but i have no clue what the delay is for, can someone enlighten me please

I don't think its for any specific purpose - just the time it takes for the mask to react.

The delay function is for the time that the mask stays dark after the arc stops, stops you looking at white hot metal when working at higher currents, it can also be handy when using low amps on tig, if the mask flickers set the delay to long and the sensitivity to high, then there will be some overlap between the mask switching off and back on.
