What media??

I'm wondering what is the best media for blasting paint off. I'm blasting outside and have been using jblast. Is there another expendable media worth using that cost less? I'm paying £8+vat per bag. Also as i have been able to get my pot knocking out over 100psi, would jblast be worth using a second time, or would it just be like using dust??

with a 6mm jet u can use .75 to 1.5mm expendable abrasive copper slag thats what all general blasters use and is readily available. it can be used twice being sieved but thats it after that u just hurtle around a load of crap and blockages occur and isnt worth the time and hassle

J-Blast is copper slag, AKA iron silicate. I re-use J-Blast until it disappears as fine dust but as BS says it's hassle. As I do a lot of blasting I'm in the middle of making a sieving machine.

The last time I bought any J-Blast Supa was £5.00 and Supafine £5.50 (+ VAT) per 25Kg bag, cheaper by the tonne!

i paid 40 quid for 16 bags they fell of a forklift truck funnily enough in to my trailer

I got a load free on a couple of occasions, they were blasting a house near me and I asked them if I swept the used grit up could I keep it. Obviously they jumped at that offer and gave ne a few unused bags to boot!

The place i was buying it was selling jblast super fine for £8+vat for a 50kg bag. But they have stoped selling them this way (healty and safety etc) unless you buy it per ton cos they can load it by forklift.
I was there thismorning and there looking £6+vat per 25kg bag!
