What part do I need?

My only working compressor has died today, it’s this

The red coloured knob that adjusts output pressure blew off, launched itself into the playpen and is nowhere to be found


What replacement part do I need to source?

any hobby type Parm..Machine Mart have them on the shelves mate if one is near you

Do you ever adjust the pressure or has it been sat at wide open for the last decade? If it has, simply remove it and fit your coupling into the tee to the other guage.

If you adjust it, then any other regulator will do - just need suitable fittings to connect it - or just plug it in and out as needed:

any will do it just check the thread size more than likely 3/8 bsp just check

Good call, yes it has been wide open for years but I want to start playing around with an air brush and mini you have up gun so a bit of control is required.

was looking at a replacement regulator and it’s £8 quid. For a pound more I can have the whole kit n caboodle with pressure switch gauges etc etc

I like the idea of PCR straight into body then a plug n play device like you suggest

Other option is to remove the pressure switch assembly and fit it all up on the bench, this will require the motor and pump to be removed as there is no clearance in the horizontal plane

if I fit PCL in place of the reg as per @roofman suggestion as it’s normally used at full tilt, then get the gizmo suggested by @bricol connect with length of hose to be used when required

this is the least faffing around way of getting it going

fit one on the end of your tank . just use a reducer to fit .much better arraignment and more air flow .i have one of them on the other end of my tank this end has full pressure take off to my blast pot

Do you mean fit pcl straight to tank? This is the only place I can fit pcl as there are no other ports on the tank

I got a combined 1/2” PCL filter and regulator @ Screwfix for £41.
I think the 1/4” version is £32 on ebay.
Connect with hard piping or rubber hose.

Always useful to have a water filter.

forgive me for saying, but that tank looks a bit rusty on the outside, just wondered what its like on the inside, especially at the bottom?
Know its unusual, but a really rusty one can blow.

My Norgren regulator has a PCL in and out and I just connect a line into and out then hang it somewhere convenient or plug it straight into the compressor output. Like roofman says, just dump it and use an external one.

I’ve also got of my backside and investigated what’s wrong with my big compressor. New motor start cap has also been ordered

now I’ll have two working units. The little one is a spare

Fixed this little baby compressor as per the suggestion.

The regulator valve recommended has also arrived, planning to have this removable with PCL fittings so I can use it when required

While I was at it I also fixed the big compressor. It needed a new motor start cap

I now have air
