I've been searching and reading loads of threads but can't find the exact answer I'm looking for so here goes.
I've been repairing a VW camper front door and I'm almost ready to weld the new skin on, but have a few questions first.
Where I've been welding a new lower frame section on I've just sprayed zinc rich primer straight over this, but I know this is porous, so what should I coat the entire inside of the door with before it gets exposed to the weather again? I was thinking of zinc rich primer all over and then a laquer to stop moisture getting into the primer?
I'm almost ready to weld the new skin on, it requires a lot of plug welds all round the edge of the skin so I was planning on using weld through primer on the edges but once welded I will have surfaces that I can't get to anymore with only the primer on suseptable to moisture, other than waxoiling the inside of the door what else can I do? Moisture can still get to the unwelded parts of the skin/frame, can I do anythign about this?
Thanks
