We thought that but I think Winchgirls seat clamp is 7NM? We have a 3/8 0-25NM and this in 1/4 just thought the bigger range one would be better for pushbikes?Bicycle socket cap screws. Handlebars, stem and seat post clamp bolt. M5 usually. Especially if carbon bars, stem or seat post
Got 0-4NM Torque wrench what would you use that for?
They do go down to 4nm on some bikes, particularly if your clamping onto carbon. We thought that but I think Winchgirls seat clamp is 7NM? We have a 3/8 0-25NM and this in 1/4 just thought the bigger range one would be better for pushbikes?
Thanks its one of theseThe Norbar SL0 11123 4-20Nm is widely used by cyclists and bike shops and the de facto recommendation when folk ask 'what torque wrench...) on cycling forums, etc.
Thats a great way of looking at itIf anything I would expect a torque wrench to be more critical on a smaller fastener than a larger one?
If torque is specced at 4nm and you do it to 5nm that's 25% out.
If its specced at 400nm you would have to hit 500nm for the same % of error.
I don't think I could tell the difference between 4/5nm using a screwdriver by hand but to add an extra 100nm I would probably have to call a mate in to help me out pulling the bar.
When MrsG had a dental implant the guy used a small torque wrench.
What sort of torque are they likely to be?
