What's the problem???

Hi guys, hope you can help me identify my problem.

I was spraying today with my crappy Amtech paint gun. Paint is good quality, thinned correctly, new & mixed well.

I kept getting lots of very small rubbery lumps being ejected from the nozzle. The paint was also coming through in fits and starts - which I attribute to the presence of the small rubbery lumps, like little paint bogeys!

Is this caused by moisture in the air supply? It is pretty humid and very warm in the workshop. I'm mid-build of some air drying kit, so at present there is none. I just wondered if moisture can cause this problem? I hope so, otherwise I can't think what it could be.

your gun isnt clean and the thinners in the paint has softened the paint that was not cleaned from the gun previously

or the seals have broken down, but I would go with the above.....

The gun was brand new. No old seals, no dried paint.

could they have been any oil residue from manufacture left in it

I don't think its either of those, its good quality paint from an industrial supplier, and the problem was consistent long after any oil residue would have been flushed out, I was using it over a period of hours.

Can moisture not cause this?

no moisture just comes through and shows like bubbles in the paint you need to filter a small sample of paint and check it sounds like a paint problem to me

The thinners are as recommended and supplied by the same people.

it can only be the paint ive had this problem with bad paint but you will have to give it a good stir then filter a sample to check for particles then take up with supplier if you find any

Thats my thought if everything else is new. Say ordinary thinners with a two pack base...
