What's this automotive double sided tape

I think this was 3m tape sold as headliner tape...it's durable enough to get wet and it's thin...almost just the adhesive without carrier tape., I'm not finding a suitable replacement, I can see foam tape that's a few mm thick or paper backed tape for craft use

i want it for taping on the membrane behind a door card on cars

Is this the sort of stuff on the left? I use the foam backed double sided & the this double sided. I've had the left one for years, cannot remember where I bought it from. It is very sticky.

Most door membranes I've seen seem to be fixed with sticky stuff that looks like black chewing gun.

I think you would be fine double side foam tape, plenty on ebay. Can be bought in various thickness and width, if it can hold a number plate in all weathers I'm sure it will fine for your use

search "double sided foam tape" on ebay you'll find dozens of options

I've actually have 2 rolls of the stuff on the left, I could let one go . Had them for at least 20 years. 1 roll would last me another 20 years ....it'll see me out!

i just did it with the black gum 3 weeks ago and went out to a puddle today , theres clips that fit through the tape /glue so thinner would be much nicer as thick tape will stop the clips working

hard to say from the pic...cheap /craft ones tend to be paper based and not up to

When you said it was expensive I had assumed it £60 a roll or something. I don’t think £12 is too bad for 3M stuff, you know it will do a good job.

seems it comes in packs of 4...some of the sites are 60-70 but thats for 4x , i thought it was 1x at first
