I am playing spot the difference with the machine mart version

Machine Mart is mainly imported Chinese stuff. Probably both made in the same factory. The internet place probably doesn't have showrooms to pay for.

They will be exactly the same, made in the same Chinese factory by the same people. Then Clarke get hold of them and put a £150 sticker on the ones they import and sell through machine mart.

they both have suction guns and need a lot of air. the more expensive one needs far more cfm than the cheaper one both look the same . so someones economical with the truth . don't expect much from a 14cfm compressor even with a pressure pot

Ive been considering blasting -

If / when i get sorted, as per brightspark's recommendations, ill be getting one of the cheap ebay pots, and replacing the valve.

Ill probably knock up some sort of flat-packable cabinet for a fraction of the clarke or ebay one.

Of course, the items in the first link are just a box, and a £15 venturi gun. You could butcher up an old kerosene tank (etc) for a lot less than the remaining price difference.

A friend has a 205ltr oil drum, cut in half, bbq style, as his blast cab.

Thanks all for the replies. I have forgotten the rate of my compressor but it's a twin v so proably c14cfm, will report back.

Regarding building a cabinet- yes I agree but I am playing the time v money balance game and picking my battles, £150 isn't bad vs losing a day I would rather be working on my car resto.

Now googling how a pressure pot works....
