Which Media?

Guys,

Ive got one of the cheap SB20 blasting pots and so far it hasn't been modified in any way.

Can I ask what type of media you would recommend for removing surface rust and old paint etc, mainly on automotive body panels and parts?

I was thinking something sharp like Aluminium Oxide 60-80 grit as my set-up probably isnt very powerful but please let me know if Im barking up the wrong tree.

I’ve no idea I just picked up a bench top model myself and was thinking about media choices.

hear me out, I used kiln dried sand for chassis and old tractors......
then collect the sand and use for car panels...its not so aggressive and cheap as chips...
or u could used the sand outof the bag but stand a little further away....

I use the Clarke Aluminium Oxide 60-80 grit, seems to last quite well but I found you need to buy far more than you think you need

I have used the heavy black slag/grit in the past. Brilliant stuff. Very little dust in the air so heavy it just drops to the ground.
I have a pallet of glass grit - not used it yet.
Whatever you get sieve it first - reduces clogging a lot.
