which Paint thinners?

Hi all, does anyone know of a paint thinners i can use on 'straight to metal' paint like hammerite to make it go a bit further? cheers.

if u arent realy fussy use gunwash cheap thinners is ok 2. i buy from autojumble but look round motor.factors dont pay more than 6 quid a gallon if pos

I have had trouble using gunwash.... but slightly dearer virgin cellulose works a treat, much cheaper than the reccomended hammerite thinner

as u say hitch gunwash isnt up to much it has water in it but cheap thinners ok

4 quid a gallon or 15 quid for 5 gal at ruffoth autojumble near york.: wish u could run a vehicle on it :

I pay about £4 for a gallon of standard thinners from the local car spares and paint shop. Nitro cellulose top coat thinners available in different flash speeds is about the same for 1 litre.
