hi,

I have got an oxy bottle and a single stage twin gauge reg for it, have flashback arrestors, both hoses and a torch with an oxy propane cutting nozzle and can get hold of both types of propane bottle from the garden centre up the road(red bottle and green 'patio gas' bottle).

I cant seem to find a single stage twin gauge propane reg, so could I use an acetylene reg instead?

Acet reg will work but its not designed for it. Twin gauges Aren't needed as propane is liquid under pressure. (And patio gas as far as I know is no good for oxy fuel)

Tbh unless you know history of the reg I wouldn't use second hand

no, I have bought all my gas welding stuff brand new, I have my own oxy acetylene regs and hoses in work as I didn't like the look of the stuff they gave me, only second hand thing I have is my oxy acet torch, but that was my dads. have bought all my own oxy propane stuff new for home too and will be buying the propane reg new aswell.

we only use gas in work for cutting now, and very rarely at the moment, as we have just bought 3 plasma cutters.

occasionally use it for hardening a few things and a bit of bending but not that often anymore.

only want oxy propane at home for hot bending and cutting
