Will 50 Litres be enough

Looking at purchasing a compressor to assist in my restoration of the Golf Mk2

usage for the compressor would be

fully paint job - celly
all spraying - primer etc
air tools - da other sanders, nibblers, polisher etc impact wrench

now i am aiming for a 3hp 14 ish cfm but the question i have is about the tank size i was initially thinking 100litres but wondering if i could get away with a 50 to save the pennies and use the spare cash for a good filtration system

also living down an estate would i be better off with a belt drive

oil or oileess does it really matter if you have a good filtration system ?

belt drive if u can aford it. just a good filter seperator will be ok bigger the tank the better 0r u could ad an extra tank out of a propane bottle for extra storage

I have a 2HP 50L direct drive and used it to paint a few cars(in bits).It had to run cobnstantly to keep up.Buy a gun with lowish air consumption.DA sander no chance just buy an electric one.Belt drive should be quieter.As already stated the bigger comp you can buy is the best bet in the long run.

Without a doubt a belt drive, my direct drive is noisy and would drive the neighbours wild if I used it a lot.

bet its not as noisy as my 90 cfm diesel comp with only an intermediate silencer on it

I have a 200 litre 14cfm belt drive, a DA Sander will make it run continuously after a few minutes, electric DA or be prepaired to wait for pressure/volume rebuild.

one thing to consider spares for it, wolf went out of bussiness

I'm happy with it runs everything else with no issues (impact wrench,air ratchets,3"da) reliability wise can't fault it yet I've been using it as much as I can since I got it 6 months ago and no problems also on the spares issue uk home shopping do stock spares as when I received mine the courier had damaged the flywheel one call to them had a replacement the next day
