Wylex 16A Base

Would anyone have a spare, blue base for a 16A Wylex plug in mcb?

I never knew the blue, 15A rewireable base had slots further apart!

15A rewireable on the left, matching base then a 16A plug in mcb, all Wylex.

Tbh I could get away without it, I've other coloured bases that fit, I could even spray blue but I'm being pedantic. This is just a quick fix to get my leccy gates going pre fitting a new garage cu. Trouble is, my "temporary" is anything but...

Happy to pay beer tokens, postage etc.

The blue base will only fit 15A carriers, they didn't make a 16A version.

I suspect that Robostar5 was thinking of those horrible 1KA duty rated B15 MCBs with the round push button operation. They were a direct replacement for the Wyler rewireable fuses
I wonder how many of those would have actually operated after a couple of short circuits at domestic properties located close to the service transformer.

I have Blue 15A Wylex with the rewirable fuse carrier just like your first photo.

Ah! just read your post #5 with my brain in gear,
the one I have are the ones your plug in MCB doesn't fit. Sorry.

Just looked at the Wylex B16 MCB s on our Storage Heater Board.
The blue rewirable base are a different shape as well as pin spacing to the MCB bases.
I doubt that even if the pin spacing were the same that the MCB would fit in the Rewireable base - deliberate design probably.

I must have known this stuff 24+ years ago.

I think the rewireables were 15A but the lever switch (as opposed to the push button ones) were 16A.

I do have some Wylex 32A ones then some compatible, plug in GE 30A ones (fit Wylex boards), both with red bases. Not checked if those bases are the same centres but I will out of interest.

Taken a punt on a s/hand one inc base for a tenner.

It all needs sorting anyway. Current feed is:

-30mA RCD
-20A Crabtree C50 breaker, Type 2 I think, pre type B,C,D.
-SWA
-16A MCB
-SWA
6A & 10A type B RCBOsat the gates

Going to redo the SWA from the house and put underground from a 100mA/Type S & switch fuse. Then a new cu in the garage on it's own rod.
