Now I have a Bambu that uses plates and Bambu studio (another culture shock for me).

I am intrigued as to whether there is a quick way to populate " plates" as I see many models on makerworld already plated and I cant see designers wasting time spreading the files across plates unless there IS and easy way to populate them.

I am getting idle in my.old age. Being spoiled by maker world and bambu studio.
Where the projects come already plated at times across a large number of plates.
The plates are laid out ready to print on a bambu. This is similar.

How many files in a profile?

Is there a specific reason why you didn’t combine all the parts into a single file? Bambu Studio allows up to 36 build plates in one 3MF file. However, if you have multiple 3MF files for a model, you’ll need to choose one initially and add the others later as additional print profiles.

Not aware of a way to auto lay out different models. That would be a really handy feature!. However if you do save the project it would keep the layout if you share it or revisit later.

On maker world or whatever they call it (linked in the Bambu Studio app) they often have .3mf files which contain the model and the layout + profile for printing. Just make sure you load the X1C version (not the P1 or P1S) otherwise you have to unpick a LOT of settings.

Before you use a .3mf make sure you have a known good profile of your own to return all your settings to standard...

Found it...you save them in collections.
