So after about 20 years since I last attempted mig welding, finally got round to it again.

Was going say be kind but hey.
Material is 3mm old handrail (that I kept cause it will come in handy ) and used flux core.

Apologies if anyone is offended by this attempt.

Ummm... I'd say it's a nay.
It looks like it's stuck together but that's about it to be honest.
Gasless is never going to give you pretty-looking welds but I'm sure with a bit of practice you can improve on those attempts.
Might be worth getting some anti-spatter spray, gasless is notoriously spattery and it will be much easier to clean up afterwards.

Aye I phoned tms motorspares in Kirkcaldy so will pop along there at some point. Gasless is no great but I have so I will use it for practice. Can only get better right.

I changed from 'pub' gas to 95/5 argon mix. The difference was enormous. I wouldn't waste time and enthusiasm flogging a dead horse. And a peashooter flow meter may save you gas.

It was the 5% I asked about in the 10l bottle. Got a gas reg etc as recommended on here.

get some flat clean material to practice .pipe is harder to weld than flat so get used to it on the flat then try pipe even after a lot of stick welding il use a bitta scrap to get back mig welding especially for round

Perfect cheers. Thought it was. It was just what I had will have a look around for flat. Thanks again. 1st pull o the trigger went right between the two bit and hit old trolley. Live and learn.
