Since I've had the occasion to use it few times,I can say something about it
So let's start with a bit of background...
I've been looking for long time for a good plasma cutter, to do small jobs, cut strange shapes etc
A night I couldn't sleep so I was looking to my local Tecnomat store (European version of the HOME DEPOT) ,as always went in the welding section and found it out for just 180 euros? What?
During the weekend went there and it was actually sold at that price (it normally costs about 650 euros ) so I wasn't totally sure to buy it but a friend who came with me said "if in yours I'd buy it" after 10 minutes I was in the parking lot loading the box in the trunk of my car ...
So that's what you get
4 meters fixed Trafimet s45 torch
Roughly 2 meters 10mm² ground clamp with Dinse 25 connector, very rubbish battery charger clamp
Roughly 1.5 meters power cord with euro plug
2 air fittings 8 and 10mm .
No consumables if not the ones installed on the torch.
It has a 30% duty cycle at 35A and 100% at 20A
It has a built in regulator which is something I really like , protected and inside the machine .
On the other hand ...
No water trap .
Lets move on
230V ±30% which is an impressive tolerance ,Genny friendly (6kW)
It declares 8mm clean cut and 12mm severance cut but I've been struggling to achieve it .
Pilot arc which doesn't kick on if you are cutting expanded steel ,a feature they added with the newest model .
Air pressure range between 3 and 5 bar
Very compact and nice looking well packaged but it misses something...
Like power.
Despite on the specs it looks great on the field it lacks a lot an huge lot .
Air consumption ,115 litres minute declared ,let's double this because I couldn't even get to cut for 10 seconds prior to drain the compressor tank .
That's the cut quality on a 10mm cutting edge on a bucket I've been repairing
Little bit of crack gouging too .
Overall the machine didn't work in the perfect conditions , and to be honest I'm more an oxy fuel guy ,but I felt the machine like a toy and a waste of money, hopefully it will change my mind later in the future maybe in better working conditions but I don't think so .
It has been a delusional acquisition for me , and I'm not even sure if I should buy another one or just keep on with my trusty Harris torch
That's my honest opinion based on my experience with the machine, I might be unlucky with it ,or simply it doesn't match my needs
