I'd like to get myself a pedal. Parweld only do one now for this - the xti902d. Looking at their brochure, they used to do a 'high quality' option, but this one is not it.
The high quality one looks just like an SSC pedal.
I'm wondering if I can just buy some other pedal and make it work?
Apparently the welder will not let you set a limit on the welder. The limit must be set with a pot on the pedal and I suspect most pedals don't have that pot. Seems rather odd to me that you don't just set the max on the welder and the pedal articulates up to that max point, but apparently that's not how it works with this one.
Sealey's TIG200HFACDC pedal can be found for close to £90. From the photos, it looks like it could possibly be an SSC pedal. Any ideas?
Would it be worth me getting a pedals and just shoving a pot on it for the max amps setting? Would be helpful to know the pinouts.
Also, silly question perhaps, but if you have a pedal, do you lose the torch arc-start button? Or do some some pedals have an in and an out on the wiring harness for you to plug torch controls in? Pictures and documents aren't that clear.
