Good afternoon guys.
I have finally gotten myself an air fed mask for painting 2k at home and I am also overhauling my compressed air set up in the workshop to something a little less temporary. I am running 15mm copper lines and will be using diy desiccant dryer for the paint line. But from the little I know im thinking even with a few filters inline I probably don't want to be feeding that into my breathing air?
Unfortunately I don't have the money at the moment to buy a new compressor so will be running two in tandem, one is a 3hp belt driven and one is a 1.5hp direct drive but both are oil lubricated. I have seen the 3 stage breathing filters but at around £300 I want to see if there is something I can build that will keep me safe. I am not trying to cheap out, safety is the priority but the cost of the aired mask has wiped me out for now. What is in those filters? I assume as long as I get rid of the water and oil and any particulates that should be good?
Ofcourse the air feeding the compressors is fresh (not in the spray booth or near the exhaust vents)
Any advice is greatly appreciated before I get to work building something.
Kind regards.
