10% or precision?I'll give you a ring

WTF, I've got a listing on there ATM, it's £2100 as well, hadn't realised they changed their listing feesWell just sold my trailer on ebay. Sold for £2100 and ebay charged me £277.
I mean come on. It was on at fixed price and open to offeres. Not thay it should matter.if thatvthe cost to sell a vehicle I'll be going back to sticking a for sale sign up
Well I didn't sell it as such as I will not sell through ebay as told the buyer to contact me and I'll cancel the purchase. £100 maybe but nor £277.
What a joke they are now.
12.8% it's a ripoff...I don't sell on eBay anymoreWell just sold my trailer on ebay. Sold for £2100 and ebay charged me £277.

By rip-off I mean excessive...not hidden. Been with eBay for 17yrs and used to sell all my cast offs there, but somewhere along the line the prices got hiked and the divorce between eBay and Paypal caused other issues with bank setup which I wasn't happy with. It's not a "rip-off" - the fees are there in plain sight.
Expensive maybe - but you don't have to use them.
Simply for ease, I've been chucking stuff in a local auction house - £1.50 to list, £1 for a PAT check for electrical items, 19% of the sale price . . . but its a 100 yd diversion on the way to work, and I have a steadily emptying spare room, over-loaded garage and shed(s). And I've not spent hours finding boxes, cutting down/extending boxes, taping up boxes, addressing boxes, taking boxes to the parcel shop, staying in for the buyer, messaging the buyer, tracking the parcel, explaining where the parcel is (right at the address you told me to send it to!) . . .

Calm.down a touch. Its all there in the terms and conditions you click "yes" to when you post - its not complicated or difficult - just look at the "fees". And then its even less complicated - if you don't like the fees a private company is charging you for their services . . . don't use them!
I did actually have one then (1970)...but no pics..metallic fern green and rusting at only 6 months old. So I projecting forwards... it's either a pile of rust somewhere or part of a new Saab?Interested in your Capri at £250. Any photos?
If I'd been agitated, I'D HAVE BEEN SHOUTINGCalm.down a touch.
I don't think that "business" sellers get the 80% off listing fees.@W.olly
Also once a month(well for me) you'll get the offer to sell stuff with up 80% off listing fees, lasts for 27 days,if the item hasn't got on day 26,remove it and wait for the next offer, otherwise deal goes dead
@Welderpaul i always sneak in the phone number in pic's,even write it on what i'm selling, parted with a few good deals that way all free
The postage fee charge came in because a lot of bulk sellers (mainly China) were taking the phiss by selling things at 1p + £3 (or whatever) postage. And don’t forget the fee for accepting PayPal too!Recently sold some of late Fathers stuff via a local auction house.
Makes Ebay fees look cheap, but I don't have to deal with idiots, or deal with postage etc..
Ebay fees might be more than they used to be but the only rip off IMO is the way they include postage costs in the fees calculation.
I don't know about business sellers, but it is 80% off the final valuation fee. Listing fee is just 30p.I don't think that "business" sellers get the 80% off listing fees.
But its the final value fees that hit you hard if you get things wrong.
I cleared an Aunts house last year using only Gumree & Faceboon Marketplace, zero fees, been using gumtree to clear my Dads house, seems to work well.
