Hello,
My plan was to upgrade my garage electrics (which feeds directly off the house) with a 16amp type D output and socket. Of course I plan to gain the services of an electrician as I do not have a clue. I have also seen some welders need 32amp supply. I have no need for this currently as have an Oxford RT110 oil cooled MMA which likes to pop the standard B type breaker plus eats 13amp fues's. Due to this I was advised to install a 16amp socket, plus to accomodate a MIG welder that I plan to purchase soon. However I thought a bit of future proofing might be good and install a 32amp outlet instead. It would cover myself if I was to purchase a more powerful welder in future plus save an electrician coming round again. Is there any issues with this? I this a good idea can I run my Oxford and any other welder whether it comes with a domestic 3 pin plug or a hefty 32amp industrial plug and anything inbetween. Yes of course I would need to change the plugs out to suit the 32amp socket.
Best regards,
Barrie
