I'm about to order a leather welding apron and I'm wondering if there's any reason to go for brown or black other than esthetics.
I weld at home and don't care how an apron color matches my outfit.
I weld carbon steel with stick.
I bought a silver leather jacket 15 years ago , it was nearly white ,, over the next fifteen years it went nearly black , but the oil and dirt never came off it , it just stayed black and got shiny , my new leather jackets red , but I made it myself from half a dozen sofas ,,,
so just go for what you fancy.
I acquired a "welding leather jacket" once.. tbh never really used it, its currently filthy in the back of the motor with an old gearbox resting on it, soaking up the oil.
I've got some of the "cuffs" too, again never used.
Most of that stuff I've encountered is plain off white/greyish not really a colour as such
