Not going down that path. It would need some way of tilting the workpiece - or maybe the head - I have a slotting head on my Town Woodhouse mill, but frankly I'd rather not entertain thinking about it.
I reversed the days work, put the mill back to horizontal mode. The rack just about fits across the bed, between the column and the outer bearing, incrementing the cut using the y axis. I was planning to use the x feed and the geared dividing head to set the tooth divisions, but that will have to wait.
I had plans to make a setting tool for the y axis, perhaps I'll resurrect them.
