My new truck is too tall for the axle stands I've got, and I hate dragging axles around on the floor, so I've built a couple of bits of kit to address this.
I'll never win prizes for welding, but it's strong.
The axle stand shaped things, with the crossbar, sit under the chassis rails and hold the chassis up. The acrow screw is for adjusting them up and down.
The axle sits in the square thing at a comfortable working height (seated) for the diff, and the brakes. It can also roll around if I want to wheel it outside to be painted or blasted. The axles can weigh around quarter ton.
