Just been away for a week in caravan.
When we picked it up from storage movers would not work despite caravan being plugged into mains beforehand.
Battery was warm to touch. Disconnected mains, battery voltage rapidly dropped from 12v odd down to 10.5v and kept decreasing over about a minute.
When connected to mains voltage across terminals was about 13.5v so probably okay for a battery on charge.
Anyhow, used it for a week plugged into mains.
When we went to leave, battery absolutely baking - i'm talking like 40-50°hot to the touch.
Battery is a year old. Last one failed pretty fast too.
I'm suspecting the charge controller, which given the caravans age and make is likely integrated into the electrical gubbins box going by pictures on caravan forums.
I'm considering stripping it all out and fitting a Victron unit which i'm familiar with from their inverters.
Anyone got experience?
