Gold Rush is back on Sky, there is a small amount of 'manufactured drama' on the show but nothing like some of the car programs.
It's a good series if heavy plant floats your boat, Tony Beets has dismantled, transported and then put a Floating Dredge back into service:

but they seam to be getting more about the drama now :-(

Hi, I always record it and watch it later so I can fast forward through the Tim Shaw bits, Which I have just done while having my lunch. The best bit was the out take at the end of the closing credits where Sir Roger Moore tells Tim to "F**k off" the scene was set up but that bit wasn't because the crew were all laughing at it.

I dunno, i have watched a lot of these "reality" shows, car sos, American restoration, pawn stars, mountain men, they all seem to be hammed up and fake, working to a formula.

There is a new series running, the one with the P1800s, there is also an older series of repeats running at the same time, but earlier in in the evening, this has recently shown the SP250

They are all old. Nat geo ran the latest series back in April. They always run there first.

Do crystal sets still work with all the new fangled ideas with radio ? Digital and all that ? Surely there isn't anything to pick up anymore ?

Just had a quick scan through and still a fair bit on MW, Radio 5 live on 693kHz for example.

5 Live is my default listen [it's on now in the background] , FM reception is a bit rubbish/hit-and-miss up here.
