Good evening all, I'd appreciate any steers towards a good chap that is happy to have a go at repairing one (or two!)
The story, I purchased a new one off ebay (supposedly cuts 13mm) and from the box it didn't work - the over temp light flashes straight away and an E4 error message. No arc, torch as dead as a door nail. Anyway, I started a return, seller told me to cancel the return and they would send me another. It arrived and.....you guessed it......the same as #1 cutter. Seller would no longer respond and after the intervention of ebay support they have given them 4 days to arrange a return of the cutters or they will refund me directly.
I'm pretty certain that the seller will not respond and ebay will go ahead and issue a refund. So, I have two brand new Chinesium plasma cutters, neither work. Well the fan starts, and you see the workshop lights dim for a second as the power supply boots up, the air solenoid clicks and air is delivered when you pull the trigger so it's just some of the peripheral circuitry that's not working as intended I think. Diagnostics of this nature are well and truly beyond my electronics ability (which is very limited indeed) and so I wonder if anyone will have a shot at a repair for me? I live in Cumbria and work in the East Midlands area. TIA Julian.
