Getting my new car project soon i hope and planning all things i need. One is due to not being in best fettle myself is to make it easier to work on it. 2 & 4 post lifts are to big as i only have a 24` x 12` garage, them portable Clarke ones.
Scissor are no good either as you have little access to underneath the car.
Anyway, been through all sorts of ways to lift the car atleast 100cm and though of seeing about these i thought of.
This is just an idea and in progress so burrrr with It is also unfinished a sit needs to be braced up and beafed up.
Its made of
lower legs are 45mm x 5mm seamless
Top, inner legs, 35mm x 5mm seamless
Base plates are 500mm x 350mm x 5mm
pins 12mm
Braces will be 25 x 6mm and 25 x 8mm for under the bases to spread load.
I bought a couple of these crappy Vevor pneumatic jacks, i say crappy as i have yet to buy something from them that doesnt look like it welded by Stevi Wonder.
Plan is to jack the car to 500mm and sit it on the lifts, front first then rear. Front lifts will be one lift and rear the other. each pair of jacks will be linked together with independent valves etc so all can be adjusted as needed to keep it level on the lift.
In total it will give 93cm lift then more with a jack beam i have planned for free a corner at a time. Or lower a corner and sit it on a stand under.
These are the 3 ton jacks. ( car weighs 1.6ton )
This gives a 500m height
82cm lift
Then to get to 93cm
As said each leg is pinned with 12mm bar. And good bracing to be added.only on the bottom legs though. Its solid once the pins are in aswell Rather done a 3 leg lift but i also plan to add adjustable feet to help level them if needed.
all fun and games for a while
