Hey,
Thought I would share my first impressions of this new machine, this is far from a review as I've only welded for around 3hours of messing about, but spoiler I'm super happy with it so far.
I was looking for a machine that would do Pulse, and Double Pulse, Aluminium to replace my Kemppi Kempact RA253A and ended up on this compact machine.
Machine retails at £9424.80, I got a great deal from Rapid Welding on this machine, so I highly recommend you speak to them directly for your next welder
As I say with very short time with the machine I can only go off first impressions, and to me this is a next generation machine for sure, its fantastic and so easy to use. Very impressed with how the pulse and double pulse just worked without much set up or effort..
The TFT screen is very nice, in fact its luxury imho, and once the machine is connecting to the wifi (yes built in wifi.. whatever next) you can go to the IP Address of the machine and control it over the air remotely.. fully ridiculous and amazing if you ask me. Almost no lag and the phone or tablet that you can connect can be used as a live read out of what your doing.. you can then can review your welds details as they are all saved i the history of the machine.. I could easily put this machine in the corner or under the bench and just control it remotely which is fantastic.
One feature I do like.. is at the end of the weld if you enter how far you welded in CM, it will then tell you your welding travel speed, which is cool as it gives you a bit of a reference if your racing along or too slow... nice feedback feature if you ask me!
Love the fact it has a gas regulator built it, and Gas warning as soon as the gas is off, so no way you can start welding without Gas.. which is what I do allot after a tea break lol.
Just everything about the machine screams quality, but you do get what you pay for at the end of the day, I get its not cheap, and the consumables are eye watering expensive (I think the tips are £1.40 each, and those are boxes are 50 on the table... ouch!)
The fans are quiet, the water cooler is reasonable and not loud and annoying.
The torch is lovely, its such a quality bit of kit, I have never had a water cooled gun before, so doing a weld and stoppign and being able to touch the end is and its cold is mental.. They do sell a 5 series 400amp gun for this machine but I opted for the smaller 300amp unit, which actually is no bigger than my small FE25 that came with my RA 253A and has the smallest consumables.
Overall, very impressed, can't wait to get some serious work done with it... but first have to recover from selling both of my kidneys.
Ordered loads of consumables and new welding wire, actually shocked me that it was over £1,500 in just extras.. eek! (and I couldn't afford the £600 trolley haha, or should I say couldn't justify it)
