Ye reading them for sureKeep going.
You read the tutorials on mig at the top of the page ?
No to be fair. I'll adjust settings on mask. Thanks for that. Work down ?1st question - can you see the weld pool and what you're welding? If not do something about it now. New mask/adjust settings, new glasses etc.
Then turn the amps up and work down, nothing worse than blobbies everywhere.
Ye cheers. I'll do that and I'm noting settings down on sheet paper etc.Already you have improvement!
There’s plenty of room on that bit for more practice- yes power up a bit and maybe wire speed down. Make one adjustment at a time so you know what it does!
Not quite ready to quote your mates in the pub for their MOT welding- but keep going
You lucky man, enjoy. Thanks for that. I will try that on Sunday as other half has plans for me till then lol.
Thanks for advice. Was definitely bit sootyyou want to up the power on that with 2mm
with the red te you want to be either min 2 or max 1 and adjust your speed max 2 is more for 3mm and adjust your speed
you also look sooty so your probably too far away with your gun its hard being at 1cm away and using it like that all of the time
This ^ is what I meant by starting high and working down. One bit of advice I always give to people new to welding is turn the welder up until you are immediately blowing holes in the practice material and then keep turning it down a little bit at a time until you don't. You want good penetration for a strong weld and MIG is probably the easiest process to have a good looking weld thats just sitting on the surface doing a whole bunch of nothing. Obviously in sheet metal you can flip it over and check but when you move onto fabrication on box or tube you really need to know its a strong joint so practice and practice and for the most part you will quickly get a feeling for what you need on that machine.
