Unboxed and had a quick play - what a machine!
All of a sudden, I can stick weld (well, almost)...
I was going to do an unboxing video but watched Doubleboost's epic series of unboxing and tryouts on his R-Tech last night and there was no way I was going to be able to compete with that, so didn't try!
Had a quick shot at MIG too but it was getting late and I don't have any 0.8mm tips (so was running 0.8mm wire through a 1mm tip - seemed to work...). I need to figure out how this synergistic thing works.
On that note, you tell it which type of wire you're using, and its diameter, but I'm guessing (the manual isn't much help) that you still set the Amps based on the thickness of the metal?
Couple of issues on delivery - looks like they sent the wrong set of additional tips (hence why I have no 0.8mm tip) and one of the feet got damaged in transit.
I'm not massively concerned about either of these as, unlike Chinese ebay sellers, R-Tech's customer service seems to be excellent. I don't want to return the unit so, unless they have some clever idea, I'll probably just live with the broken foot.
Happy so far
