For comparison this is mine.the clutch pretty much matches what it's like in the manual except there's more washers/shims (L5814/L5814A) than listed in the manual
a vid of the noise....

I have the poverty spec gearbox on my 140. Had to check the ratios the other day; 1:1, 1.5:1 and 2:1. Presumably they're the same on the L5, but maybe not.You can make a door from 3/8" ply, paint it grey and you would hardly be able to tell.
You can get handwheels to graft onto it. Someone her emight well have something suitable.
Your machine has the basic gearbox which is probably 1x, 2x, 4x ratios on the screw. You will definitely need some more gears to go with it.

yeah that's a bit quieter!, took the clutch off and tried greasing the roller bearing but still made that noise with clutch disengaged...slackening the belt stops the noise but the belt is then too loose, or seems it anyway, I suppose as long as it doesn't slip it would be okFor comparison this is mine.
Mate, that's a nice job!
I see no levelling pins though! Ditto here but was lucky enough to source some through Cromwell fasteners. Not cheap mind you.
...the oil nipple for the middle gear fouls it when shut...
Drill right through the stud. Tap the back of it for a (90 degree) barbed fitting. Install a remote nipple on a length of tube that accommodates the banjo movement. Block the front hole.
going to get a magnet cupboard door thing to hold it shut
