@Pete. ???I've got to remove part of an old cast in situ concrete lintel. What's the forums ideas for cutting it out?

It needs to be cut roughly in the centre of the open door.
It only has three courses of bricks on top of it and isn't supporting anything as far as I can see.
I think the lintel carries on past the this room and goes over to the bedroom door out of shot.Easier just to remove the bricks above and then just remove the lintel?
The wall is only 3 bricks high and stops at the ceiling, god knows why they put in a lintel that big!Isn't the lintel there to support the wall above?
I need to knock a bit more plaster off tonight to see how far it goes but it looks like it's only got 3 courses on it.I'm not sure I understand...if it spans 2 doors then isn't it supporting what's above?
Need to be 100% sure it's got nothing above....for it's full length!
It's a chalet bungalow so only the floor joists for the upstairs bedrooms are above.Hard to see from the pics...in person it's probably obvious...is it just a roof space above?
If there's nothing above any of the doors then the lintel seems a bit over the top for holding up 3 bricks!
