Small problem has made me cound the years.
I bought the SIP Autoplus 180 back in 1979 from a company that advertised it in the Exchange & Mart and never really had any probs with it except one time when it needed a new relay for the wire feed motor.
It has burned a lot of reels of wire in it's time.
Now if there is the least kink or bend in the cable or if any resistace at all the wire feed stops, the wire feed roller spins under the wire tension roller and does not deliver the wire.
So, I assume the grooves in the roller are worn.
Looking tonight, I see that wire feed rollers are easily obtainable, I could either get one with smooth V grooves or knurled.
Has anyone here used knurled rollers and are they better than smooth V groove ?
Or, are knurled rollers for flux cored wire only?
