Folks.
I'm planning to spend a lot of time in the workshop this winter and was pondering installing this to keep me warm:
It's only 4 years old and we had it fitted new in the house but OH just couldn't get on with it () so it was swapped for a Hunter Herald, same as we had in our last house and a much more pleasant piece of kit. The rust around the top was caused by the cowboys who fitted it badly causing the rain to get in down the flue pipe but other than that there's nowt wrong with it, and having it in the workshop would keep me warm as well as getting the damn thing from under my feet in the shed where it's been languishing for the last 3 years.
The only place I can realistically fit it is where this drawer unit currently sits, under the chop saw:
Pipework will run up the wall and out behind the saw through what used to be a window, the wall being originally part of a cottage that was attached to the house 100-odd years ago, and will exit roughly halfway between the top of the blue bin and the fascia board:
This is not something I've attempted before and I haven't really got the time for it so I'll get someone in to drill the hole in the wall, mainly because it's made from Weardale stone which makes granite look soft . Fuel won't be a problem courtesy of my being a wagon driver and the stove will only be on for a few hours over the weekend and won't be hot enough to melt steel but any thoughts or advice regarding the plan would be most welcome.
