Tonight I should have planted my runners that are currently doing a Douglas Bader and reaching for the sky. However, the thought of spending all that time on my knees was putting me off. What I need is a bulb planter! Cheapest I could find was £16 and I'm not made of money!
So...a bit of scrap 3" CHS and some 33.7mm handrail was dug out. A bit of work with some Starretts to cut birds mouths and "teeth" and I'm up to here tonight when I gave in to beer o'clock. Welding tomorrow...maybe.
The vermin converter insisted on helping. I might splay and/or point maybe even sharpen the teeth:
The foot bar will get welded through these top holes:
Then the shaft welded to that with a T bar on top:
Something like this:
Not looking to remove a plug of soil per se, just something heavy duty that'll tear a 3" hole in this flinty clay!
