Does it have a set screw, a keyway, or both?Is it possible to make a sleeve to fit a 3/4" pulley to a 5/8" motor shaft?
You should be able to find a 3/4" OD X 5/8" ID sleeve/tube, something like THIS, and cut a slot for the keyway. If the grub screws (aka, set screws) are placed opposite of, or offset from, the keyway, you'd have to drill a couple of holes in the sleeve to allow them to contact the motor shaft directly.Yes both the motor and pulley have a keyway.
The pulley also has two grub screws.
Looks like the sleeve i found comes with a taller keyThanks chaps!
I'll double check my measurements then order some up .
I would say no but it depends what you are drilling the the drill, does it have a back gear ?Next question, the motor I'm looking at buying is single phase 1/2 HP , the old one is three phase 3/4 HP it's for a pillar drill, do you think it will be big enough for the job?
...do you think it will be big enough for the job?
my drill has a half hp motor with a half inch chuck and it drills no problems using half inch drills and bigger holesawsNext question, the motor I'm looking at buying is single phase 1/2 HP , the old one is three phase 3/4 HP it's for a pillar drill, do you think it will be big enough for the job?
Thanks Kim, I might have to replace the quill pulley as that's got a few chunks missing out of it.
