I can hardly believe I have spent so long thinking about making one without just getting on with it. But I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting on a skip so...
Got some O1 (4mm)
...and I loved the look of this blade the first time I saw it on a Gough custom knifemaking video. It's his design (I copied it into sketchup).
Those are appx. dimensions I used for making a template. Stock removal took no time at all but it should have. I took a huge chunk out of the handle with my first cut so it is compromised from the start.
Took forever to grind the bevels. Combination of filing and after stripping the table off the machine, some linishing. A belt sander is definitely on my Xmas list.
This is as far as I have got with it.
Very happy with the bevels now, after a day of sanding and tidying up with a needle file. The three (out of line!) holes are for weight reduction and balance. I'm probably going to hollow it out, if only because having them off centre really annoys me.
