New to me S3 mobil help!

I've bought a second hand S3mobil speed pulse , I've got it home and I'm not sure if its something not set right (i haven't a clue how to use it yet) or its faulty.
The seller said a local welding shop had tested it and was all good, but i have set it quickly to what I thought would work but it is lacking power and will hardly melt the wire.
The seller says he will refund if its faulty but I'm hoping that its something in the settings that is wrong.
do these settings look something like it should weld?

And the wire nest that wont melt

If someone could guide me on a basic setup that should work so i know if its broken or not that would be much appreciated

How’s your ground? Have you increased the power and tried it?

That's quite an old one.

Start off with a factory reset.

Then have a watch of this:

Check the contact tip is not loose, or the wrong size.

Set up looks all good. Something drastically wrong somewhere.

If it wasn’t for the lack of an error code I’d of said it looks like your missing a phase but the machine would recognise this.

You can check everything is good on the inverter side by swapping over to MMA and burning a few electrodes. MMA is quite demanding on an inverter so if it’s all good there then it’s going to be something in the Mig set up, how is the condition of the torch?

All sorted now thanks to the amazing knowledge and support from @matt1978 , much appreciated .
It turned out to be the torch that was faulty, plugged in my spare and she was away
I've just got to familiarise myself with it all now but I'm well chuffed.
Not the prettiest weld but not bad for the first squirt.

I've found the problem with the original torch , it looks like something may have been dropped on the cord and damaged the power cable, It tested ok on a normal resistance test but still didnt work but welded with a bit of help

So I decided to pull out the power cable/tube and as I was about half way I felt the cord stretch where the break was so at least I know what it was.
I just need to source one now.

Looks like the same torch as one of mine. MW 5800 I think it is. I got a MW5500 torch on ebay recently so I could be persuaded to part with my spare torch... maybe

Express Cutting & Welding in preston will find you just the power cable if you want. I got a new outer sheath from them for mine.

The powermaster torches sometimes come up on ebay, they're horrendously expensive to buy brand new... but awesome.

Equally, I have a power master torch here where the neck gets red hot. I'm sure the power cable is fine although it has had a few years of use.

Just to round this up ,I managed to get a new power cable locally albeit a different brand , fitted it and we're all good with a working torch.



With having a new cable I cut the old one where I could feel the break and oh dear it looks like someone had used the torch without the cooler

Anyway it's all sorted now but I could do with the rubber as go's over the Swan neck if it's available as I'm fussy

That's classic torch with no water. Blimey you got a nice little setup there with a power master torch and watercooled.
