Just for your info I got the plugs from RS Components, plug and pins were under £15 if I recall, could look to see exact cost if you wanted.

Yes, the Thermal Arc torch is pretty nasty. However Parweld are an out and out torch manufacturer so you'd expect that part of the package to be pretty good.

Ok just looked, just under £12 delivered for plug, pins and cable clamp.

I think I'll order the parweld in the morning . £12 sounds worth a go to me. I'll look up the diagrams and see if i want to try it. I wonder if any car throttle pedals share the same pot

Im sure you could buy a pedal direct from ssc to fit the paraweld...for similar money. I recently purchased the Ssc pedal for my machine. Sure is smooth the twice Ive used it.

Use the savings to buy a nice small light torch

Here are the parts for the plug, the pins come in 10's but the price is shown as each. I bought two plugs, two cable clamps and one set of pins as I have a few torches that I put the plugs on.

You can have a thermal arc fitted with a tweco torch. I had one that I sold to a member on here.
The parweld torches are just as crap as a ta torch imo.
I've had and used enough of them.
Thermal arc machine with ssc pedal and tweco tig torch can be supplied and is a much nicer package.

I love Euro torches Granted I have gone to a WP20 now rather than the WP26 but still the Euro style, just wouldn't entertain a round torch myself, thankfully everyone is different or it would be very boring

I'm wi you mate. I'd buy a welder as a powersource only. Never found one yet where the supplied oem torch is any good.
I'd source the plug and fit a weldtec.
