wheels may be handy , and save the corners .
To slide I clamp on the vertical edge and pull. Or lift near right near the edge of the horizontal and lift/dragElusivemite's idea looks interesting but I would always slide sheet steel along the floor or have it supported from below, dropped a sheet years ago and it sliced the leg half off my overalls and did not make a mark on me. I'm super wary of the stuff.
Thought that was a bit rich for these skinflintsRecommend these Mike.

I was on the fence for a while but I'd replace it tomorrow if I lost itThought that was a bit rich for these skinflints
Keep meaning to make a wider copy for firedoors.
Would those work as well on a sheet with a slightly rusty surface or would the rust particles prevent the full contact needed to create the vacuum?I use a pair of “glass suckers” of the sort that have a lever that creates a vacuum and a handle to hold. Works very well for me with sheets up to 2 mm
For thicker stuff, plate I suppose, I use a pair of lifting magnets with tackle if more than I can easily lift.

If you move the wheel(s) in from the end of the board or sheet, you dont have to lift all the weight, and it turns easier.
